There were lots of strong performances among the finalists on American Idol, but the most memorable moment of the night may have come from Ryan Seacrest.

After Simon Cowell called out Michael Lynche for "corny" dance moves, Ryan not only came to the affable singer's defense, he got in Simon's grill in the process.

The normally unflappable judge was taken aback - and scooted his seat back, throwing his hands up and admitting he was very uncomfortable. Point, Seacrest!

Chalk up another memorable exchange in one of Hollywood's ongoing rivalries / friendships. We never quite know what to make of the dynamic between them.

Drawing out a number of celebrities, the world premiere of “Viva Elvis” took place at the Elvis Theater at Aria Resort and Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday (February 19).

Celebrity couple Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli showed up and both looked stunning as they made their way down the blue carpet before heading inside.

It's official: Ellen DeGeneres is part of the American Idol family.

The comedian was announced as the show's fourth judge, taking over for Paula Abdul, months ago. But she now appears in a series of promotional photos for the competition and there's truly no going back.

Ellen will debut on the panel on February 9.

Prior to that, Idol will feature a number of celebrity guest judges - including Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Joe Jonas, Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry - as it narrows its season nine field down to the Hollywood round.

American Idol will begin its search for the next Kris Allen, Adam Lambert or Carrie Underwood is less than a week! It premieres on January 12 and THG will be there every step of the way, posing almost-daily reviews, recaps and videos of contestants.

Ryan Seacrest turns 35 today.

On one hand, we wanna wish the American Idol host a very happy birthday and tell him to celebrate it in a safe, responsible manner.

On the other hand, we wanna strange him until almost no life remains because he's responsible for hoisting Keeping Up with the Kardashians on the world. Seacrest serves as executive producer on that "reality" show.

He actually seems like a perfectly nice guy and his chemistry with Simon Cowell is a major reason we tune in to Idol every week. But, seriously Ryan, the country didn't need to get to know anyone in the Kardashian family aside from Kim's boobs.

This really shouldn't come as a surprise.

Of course the Kardashians would consider an E! News personality as part of their family.

The group's newly-released Christmas card - which somehow, magically appeared online - includes the all the usual suspects (Kourtney, Khloe, Kim Kardashian; Bruce Jenner, Lamar Odom, etc.)... and Ryan Seacrest.

The American Idol host produces the family reality show.

On her official blog, Kim wrote:

"What is Ryan Seacrest doing in the pic!!? I love you to death, Ryan, but it's a bit of a stretch to call you a member of the Kardashian family, don't you think? I know you're dying to be a part of the family, so just for this Christmas, we'll make your wish come true!"

This is why you have to love/hate/admire/detest the Kardashians: do they really expect us to believe that Seacrest was accidentially included on the card?

Kim acts as if this wasn't 100% planned by her publicist. Someone had the idea to stick Ryan in the photo, circulate it around the Internet and create a new round of headlines for the attention-hungry family.

It's both utterly grating and completely genius at the same time.

Living it up in the Land Down Under, Ryan Seacrest attended the Chadwick Modeling Agency Christmas Party in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday (December 16).

The “American Idol” host seemed to have his hands full, as he cozied up with Australian television presenter Sophie Falkiner during the festive soiree.

Over the past year, celebrities have been dealing with scary situations with stalkers - including Ryan Seacrest.

Seacrest’s attorney will appear in court Tuesday (November 17) for an extension of a stay away order against the man who has been charged with stalking the host.

Ryan Seacrest’s alleged stalker, Chidi Uzomah, pled not guilty to a felony stalking charge and two misdemeanor charges of disobeying a court order earlier today (November 3).

The judge gave a protective order for Seacrest, stating that Uzomah needs to keep 500 yards away from the “American Idol” host while setting bail set at $150,000.

The L.A. County District Attorney's office has formally charged Chidi Uzomah, 25, with felony stalking after he came looking for Ryan Seacrest last week in L.A.

He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of disobeying a prior court order after allegedly assaulting a guard at Children's Hospital in Orange County.

Uzomah is ordered to stay clear of Ryan Seacrest, who he is accused of stalking Seacrest between September 15-October 30, the day he was arrested at E!

He came looking for Ryan where he does his daily radio show.

If convicted, he faces a maximum of four years in prison.

What's even scarier than the photos below, or the fact that he showed up looking for Ryan with a knife on him? Chidi Uzomah has serious military training.

Chidi Uzomah, Jr.: Not at all terrifying.

Chidi Uzomah, Jr. is currently in the Army Reserves in Upland, Calif., having been trained as a front line soldier and assigned to the 426th Civil Affairs Battalion.

That's a part of the Army special forces, which is attached to the Green Berets.

Before Uzomah's gig in the 426th, he served in the California Army National Guard from April 2005-April 2009. He then transferred to the Army Reserves.

Uzomah was an ROTC Cadet at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Lt. Col. Nathan Banks, an Army spokesperson, said yesterday, "We apologize to Ryan Seacrest."

"Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously."

Coming as welcome news for “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest, a man who made an undesired appearance at E! Headquarters carrying a knife last week has been charged with felony stalking.

Breaking reports tell that Chidi Uzomah Jr. will be arraigned on Tuesday for the stalking count, also racking up two misdemeanors as a result of his unwillingness to heed previous court orders banning him from coming near Seacrest.

An apparently dangerous stalker of Ryan Seacrest, Chidi Uzomah, was arrested inside the E! building where Ryan shoots his daily TV show earlier this morning.

Uzomah was arrested at 9:40 a.m. PDT today, after showing up at E! offices and asking to see Ryan Seacrest. He was armed with a knife when he showed up.

Sources say he is the same man who attacked Ryan's security guard last month outside an Orange County hospital. In that incident, he had a knife as well.

Uzomah pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors for the prior incident. The judge placed him on three years probation, ordering him to stay away from Ryan.

Apparently that didn't work.

He was detained by LAPD the in the lobby of the E! building after a security guard, who was aware of who Chidi Uzomah was, called them after he came in.

Ryan Seacrest was in the building at the time Uzomah entered, although fortunately the deranged lunatic never got within sight of the American Idol host.

According to TMZ, the hardest working man in Hollywood and his staff have been asking prosecutors for weeks to take swift action against the alleged wacko.

Earlier this month, Uzomah, unaware that his target works out of E! offices in L.A., showed up at KIIS-FM in Burbank, Calif., on the hunt for Ryan Seacrest.

The Burbank police were called but no arrest was made.

Ryan's people called the Orange County D.A.'s office immediately after the KIIS incident, asking prosecutors to violate Uzomah's probation and put in place a criminal protective order. They fear he poses danger and should be locked up.

Not a hard sell after today's frightening encounter.

Ryan Seacrest can breathe a sigh of relief - his stalker Chidi Uzomah was apprehended by the police inside the E! Building today.

The “American Idol” host’s security guard was attacked by the same man last month outside an Orange County hospital.  At that time he was carrying a knife.

Last week, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest joked on his radio show that if he could use a taser on one reality star, he would choose Heidi Montag.

Naturally, her husband-pimp Spencer Pratt took exception to the remark and issued a statement to generate some free publicity defend her honor.

"I'm disgusted and horrified that Ryan Seacrest would find it amusing and entertaining to have his listeners call in about tasing anyone," he said.

"What's next, guns and knives? Waterboarding? It is irresponsible and offensive for someone with your platform to promote violence on this level."

"For someone who produces reality content for a living, I'm shocked that you would encourage people to tase reality TV stars. Would it be funny to you if one of your Kardashians got tased? Is that how you would treat your talent, Ryan?"

Ryan Seacrest, of course, produces Keeping Up with the Kardashians, starring Khloe, Kourtney and Kim. Eh, we'd live if one or all got tasered.

Spencer Pratt is looking for a fight with Ryan Seacrest after a hilarious comment the American Idol host made. Heidi Montag could use a nice taser jolt, don'cha think?

Prior to his radio show, Seacrest Tweeted as a "funny topic" who you would most like to see tasered: Heidi Montag, Omarosa from The Apprentice, Tila Tequila (this was before Shawne Merriman choked her) and Daisy de la Hoya.

Not surprisingly, despite the formidable competition, Heidi won.

"Finding humor in violence is disgusting," Spencer Pratt added. "For someone who pretends to be mister clean-cut America, you should be ashamed. Any reasonable person knows that a taser isn't a Super Soaker and can cause immediate death."

Come on, Spencer. Brody Jenner was just fine the other night.

"I expect an apology not to just us, but to people everywhere for using your public voice to spread violence," Pratt concluded, his mission accomplished, similar to when he pretended to be offended by insults from Anderson Cooper.

Caught off guard by the news that co-host Paula Abdul opted to leave “American Idol,” Ryan Seacrest offered his thoughts on the decision.

“About to go to sleep when I started seeing my blackberry blow up,” Seacrest tweeted. “I have read what u have read and I am shocked and saddened about Paula.”

It’s one of the most anticipated comedies of the summer, and last night Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen premiered “Funny People” in Hollywood.

The “Billy Madison” funnyman looked to be in good spirits as he arrived at the Arclight Theatre along with costar Rogen as well as Jonah Hill and writer/director Judd Apatow.

Ryan Seacrest is apparently worth $15 million a year to American Idol.

Does that mean Simon Cowell is worth $50-100 million per season?

We aren't sure about the latter, but Seacrest just closed a new three-year, $45 million deal with CKX, parent of American Idol producer 19 Entertainment.

Under the pact, the reality TV staple will be exclusive to CKX in broadcast TV primetime to host American Idol or any CKX show that might succeed it.

The deal more than triples his salary from around $5 million a season.

Arguably the king of 21st Century media, Ryan Seacrest has a cable deal with Comcast and is E!'s lead anchor. He produces such reality shows as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, It's Complicated and ABC's upcoming Jamie Oliver reality series.

He's even jump-starting Lindsay Lohan's production company.

American Idol producers will are now focusing on securing the show's judges for next season. Simon Cowell has made statements that he might leave the smash singing competition when his contract is up at the end of next season.

Some British media sources have pegged his salary demands at more than $100 million per year, which sounds ridiculous, but if Seacrest earns $15 million ...

The other judges - Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi - all have said they hope to close deals to return to the reality juggernaut next year.

Reports have surfaced today that Lindsay Lohan is somehow launching a new company with partner Kristi Kaylor. Skinny Bitch Unforgettable Productions will develop and produce a slate of TV series, films, documentaries and online content.

No, it will not produce adult films. That was our first question too!

Kristi Kaylor oversees Lohan's 6126 fashion line. Ryan Seacrest is said to be a major part of the newly founded organization as well. Hey, at least they won't have a big food budget. Gotta keep overhead down in these tough times.

Last month, the American Idol host Tweeted about a "reality show idea" he had for Lohan, 23, after the two went clubbing at Hollywood hot spot H. Wood.

Oh, and we can't possibly forget their planned documentary series focusing on a specific cause in conjunction with a charitable organization. Zzzzzz.

Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan were spotted together Thursday night.

Our imaginations ran wild with that run-in, but it turns out their meeting was strictly business - Ryan wants to create a Lindsay Lohan reality show.

"Met with Lindsay last night about a show idea I have for her ... it helps people and gives others a second shot!" Ryan wrote on his Twitter page.

The American Idol host is no stranger to producing. In addition to his radio hosting gig, the star has lent his TV production talents to E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Denise Richards' It's Complicated and Brody Jenner's Bromance.

Lindsay Lohan - who in the past week alone was investigated in a $400K jewel heist, was dumped for good by Samantha Ronson, posted topless pictures of herself online and had her Twitter account "hacked," also mentioned details of the project.

"Working on a really great project for television - I am excited!" she Twatted. "Something meaningful like Extreme Home Makeover on ABC ... :)"

The premise of the series is that real people who are on the wrong track and looking for a second chance are given $1 million to make it happen.

Lohan would serve on a panel of judges who hear contestants' stories.

Because that's the kind of "panelist" who needs to oversee people and their problems: A coked-up, slutty, Twitter-obsessed, wannabe lesbian attention whore who can't hold down a job to save her life. Sounds like a winner, Ryan!

Britney Spears’ camp is squashing the latest round of rumors that the star is pregnant - ones circulated by Ryan Seacrest of all people on his radio show.

Seacrest posted a message (on Twitter, natch) earlier in the day saying, “I heard a rumor about Brit that I want to investigate before I give more deets!!”

Of course, he then quoted a “reliable source” on the air as saying Britney Spears is pregnant. Brit spokesman Adam Leber released a statement denying it.

“She’s absolutely not pregnant,” Leber said.

“I have no idea where this ridiculous rumor came from ... Ryan Seacrest has communication with our camp and could have checked this before saying it.”

With the amount of sex Britney Spears supposedly has according to celebrity gossip magazines - Chase Benz, K-Fed, etc. - it's only a matter of time before she ends up carrying baby #3. However, these stories may be a tad erroneous.

After all, since she's not allowed to say a word under the conservatorship, and doesn't know where she is half the time anyway, scheduling in sessions of unrequited boning with sundry characters may pose logistical difficulties.

Anyway, in other Britney Spears gossip (that's actually true), she will not be required to appear in court as part of her conservatorship’s attempt to gain permanent restraining orders against Sam Lutfi and Jon Eardley, E! reports.

Eardley and Lutfi sought to make her testify on their behalf - they claim she wanted their help in making her dad's conservatorship implode for good.

But, an L.A. Superior Court judge stated, “There was a finding of a judge of the Superior Court that she lacks the capacity to testify,” after a hearing.

Between hosting a radio show, hosting American Idol and flirting with Simon Cowell, it's a wonder Ryan Seacrest has any time to date.

However, new reports have linked the hard-worker with Los Angeles bartender Jasmine Waltz.

Seacrest met Waltz during a night out at Guy's, a West Hollywood lounge. She's an aspiring actress that has worked at other L.A. clubs, such Les Deux, and enjoyed an uncredited role in Bad Boys II.

"They've been together for a few months now," a source told People.

Seacrest and Waltz spent a weekend in Paris last week, where numerous witnesses reported a heavy amount of PDA between the couple.

The American Idol host has been linked previously to singer Sophie Monk, Amazing Race star Shana Wall and actress Teri Hatcher.

You really had to watch this group ring in 2009 together in order to truly grasp how awkward it was for everyone involved. Swift turned to the crowd for the duration of the celebration, pretending to wave to fans - but likely contemplating how many bones would break if she jumped.

Showing off her holiday spirit, Paris Hilton was spotted on her way out to dinner with Ryan Seacrest at West Hollywood eatery STK restaurant along with her BFF Brittany Flickinger.

The “Hottie and the Nottie” actress was more than happy to pose for the paparazzi in her snazzy Christmas sweater before heading inside.  And after dinner, the trio hit up Hyde nightclub.

He’s seen some serious success since coming in 2nd place in the most recent season of “American Idol.” And last night David Archuleta was hamming it up with a host of celebrities at the annual Road to a Cure gala.
