Joining in on one of the biggest acts this year, Rihanna made her way on stage for a surprise performance with Kanye West and Jay-Z for their "Watch the Throne" tour in London.

The Barbadian beauty took to the London O2 Arena on Sunday night (May 20) wearing a cropped black top, skinny jeans and a beanie to perform "All Of The Lights" with Kanye as well as joining in on Jay-Z's hit "Run This Town."

After leaving the arena, the 24-year-old took to her Twitter page to let her 19 million-plus followers in on her exciting night tweeting, "#RihannaNAVi made historih tonight as the first person to Watch The Throne AND join it!!! No one is allowed on that stage! Thank u guys." Before making her crowd-pleasing performance, the songstress also posted pictures of herself backstage at the event with friends and from her seats in the arena with a caption, "WTT tour #London." An almost unrecognizable Tom Hardy was spotted arriving at the Nice International airport in France this afternoon (May 21).

SHE'S been gracious in publicly extending congratulations to her ex-fiance Michael Clarke, but Bingle has admitted the news was a "shock."

The Weinstein Company released a sneak peek of its latest film “The Master” today (May 21) giving audiences a subtle hint of the mysterious performances in store.

The Paul Thomas Anderson film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, Jesse Plemons, David Warshofsky, and Rami Malek.

It’s set in America in the years after World War II and follows the charismatic character played by Hoffman as he launches a faith-based organization along with Phoenix’s character. Things start to go south as the group starts to gather a large following and the “Doubt” star finds himself questioning the plan altogether. The film is set to hit theaters on October 12. Kristen Wiig got a musical sendoff on the season finale of Saturday Night Live.

The popular cast member is leaving the show after seven years, and in her final skit, guest host Mick Jagger played the principal at a high school graduation and brought up Wiig, in cap and gown, as "one particular student who is leaving this summer."

The symbolism? Not subtle. The emotions? Running high.

She danced in turn with Jagger, cast members and executive producer Lorne Michaels to the tune of the Rolling Stones classic "She's a Rainbow."

The ensemble then sang sang another Stones hit, "Ruby Tuesday," with its line, "still I'm gonna miss you." Wiig appeared to be holding back tears.

Wiig's departure, while widely expected - her hit film Bridesmaids was just the start of a promising movie career - is still a tough blow for the show.

Her limitless range on SNL brought us attention-seeker Penelope, Kat (half of the musical duo Garth and Kat), the Target woman and other oddballs.

Real-life notables she played include Bjork, Kathie Lee Gifford, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and most recently, Tanning Mom.

After coming across a touching YouTube video, Taylor Swift reached out to the family of a U.S. Marine who died in Afghanistan during combat on Friday (May 11).

The "Safe & Sound" singer sent flowers and a note to Sergeant Wade Wilson’s family after watching the video posted by the Sergent's best friend, Corporal Josh Marreel, who starts the video by saying, "Alright, so this is a shout out to the one and only Taylor Swift."

The soldier continues, "I know you have no idea who I am but this video isn’t about me. This is about a good buddy, Sgt. Wade D. Wilson, who was killed in action Friday, May 11, 2012 in Afghanistan." Mr. Marreel adds, “Anybody that knew Willy personally knew that he worshiped you. He even slept with a poster of you in between our beds in Afghanistan.” Josh Marreel then asks Taylor to “think about him,” and personally invites her to Wilson's funeral services in Texas. After seeing the video, Ms. Swift responded with flowers and a note that reads, “Wade, thank you for loving my music. I won’t forget it and I will never forget you. Posing for photos at the 7th Anniversary Sports Spectacular in Los Angeles, CA last night (May 20), Victoria and David Beckham looked lovely with their three adorable young sons.

The Beckham boys were looking sharp as they posed with their superstar parents, each in their own monochromatic outfits. The oldest of the trio, Brooklyn, 13, matched his dad in a white shirt and black pants while Romeo, 10, sported a black sweater over his attire.

Katy Perry is never one to hold anything back.

The singer performed her new song "Wide Awake" at the Billboard Music Awards last night, a song written for her upcoming 3D documentary movie and which appears to specifically address her recent divorce from comedian Russell Brand.

"I'm wide awake. I was in the dark, I was falling hard with an open heart. How did I read the stars so wrong. I was dreaming for so long. I wish I knew then what I know now. I wouldn't dive in, I wouldn't bow down," she sings.

But the song isn't about the singer wallowing in heartbreak for long, at least.

"Not losing any sleep," she says. "I picked up every piece and landed on my feet."

"Need nothing to complete myself. I am born again, outta the lion's den. I don't have to pretend. The story's over now, the end."

If the song is as autobiographical as it sounds, she's moved on. Good for her.

Blond beauty Carrie Underwood performed the title track to her chart-topping new album, Blown Away, live at last night's Billboard Music Awards.

Showing off her unmistakably powerful pipes (and other attributes), Carrie commanded the stage with what she calls one of the darkest songs she's ever written.

At the event, Carrie talked to reporters about Robin Gibb, who died earlier in the day, and how she used to listen to the late Bee Gees singer as a kid.

"My parents both listened to the Bee Gees quite a bit when I was little, so I was definitely exposed to them at an early age," she said.

"They just had a sound that was all their own, obviously, [it was] never duplicated," she added. "They were very influential on music in general."

"It's very sad to hear about any loss. There have been a lot of legends lost this year, so it's always sad to see it happen, but they are paying a couple of tributes here, and I know that they'll be classy and respectful and allow us all to remember them."

The most notable: John Legend and Jordin Sparks' tribute to Whitney.

The latest season of MTV’s hit show “Punk’d” has featured many A-listers including Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Josh Hutcherson, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.

Although the young stars have done a great job at controlling the show’s reigns, viewers still miss its ultimate prankster Ashton Kutcher.

The 34-year-old executive producer is making a comeback to the small screen to host a special episode of “Punk’d” on June 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, as part of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards pre-show. Desmond Hatchett, a 33-year-old Knoxville, Tenn., resident, appeared in court this week to ask the state for child-support help, Memphis' WREG TV reported.

When you have 30 kids (yep, 3-0, or thirty), those bills do pile up.

That total is believed to be the record in Knox county, according to reports and have been born by 11 different women. His youngest are toddlers; his oldest is 14.

Hatchett reportedly asked the court to give him a break on his payments, claiming that he's struggling to make ends meet with his minimum-wage job.

Currently, the state requires him to divide 50 percent of his earnings among the 11 women, and he does, but some receive as little as $1.49 a month.

How did Hatchett come to father so many children? He said he didn't plan on it, but it just happened. Sure. He also revealed one dubious feat:

“I had four kids in the same year. Twice," he told Volunteer TV in 2009, adding that he was "done" having kids (he had only 21 at the time).

Hatchett, who may want to consider the cost-benefit analysis of condoms, does not face any legal action because he has broken no laws.

One-time Rutgers student Dharun Ravi was sentenced Monday to 30 days in jail for his role in the suicide of his former roommate, Tyler Clementi.

Ravi was found guilty of invasion of privacy and hate crimes in March.

The 20-year-old did not speak at his sentencing this morning. He will begin serving jail time May 31. Ravi cried as his mother spoke in court.

"The media was ripping him apart with their misleading facts ... He was absolutely devastated and broken into pieces,” Sabitha Ravi pleaded.

"I do not believe he hated Tyler Clementi," Judge Glenn Berman told the packed courtroom in announcing his decision. "He had no reason to."

"But, I do believe he acted out of colossal insensitivity."

Dharun Ravi was convicted of bias intimidation, witness tampering, hindering arrest and numerous other charges in connection with the case.

This all stemmed from his role in using a webcam to observe Clementi's date with a man in their dorm room in 2010, then Tweeting about it.

That man's name has not been revealed.

Prosecutors said Ravi was motivated by a hatred. Ravi consistently has denied hatred of gays. In any case, Tyler Clementi killed himself.

He jumped off the George Washington Bridge on Sept. 22, 2010, after leaving a note on Facebook reading, "Jumping off the gw bridge. Sorry."

He was 18.

In the days leading up to his sentencing, several prominent gay activists made public pleas for Ravi not to be sent to prison, reports ABC News.

But the man captured on the webcam with Tyler Clementi did not agree. His attorney, Richard Pompelio, read his statement in court Monday.

It said, "While I bear no anger towards Mr. Ravi, after much thought and many sleepless nights, I must say that Mr. Ravi should serve some type of confinement so that he can reflect on the serious harm he has caused."

"I do not believe that he has taken responsibility for his conduct, and to this day he seems to blame me for the actions he took."

Tyler's father, Joseph Clementi, also said of Ravi: "He had no call to do what he did. Tyler never did anything to Mr. Ravi to cause him harm."

Ravi's actions, said Joseph Clementi, were purely as a result of his seeing Tyler "as someone not deserving basic human decency and respect."

"All because my son was different from him [and] because he was gay."

In her own message, Jane Clementi, Tyler's mom, called Ravi's actions "mean-spirited, they are evil and, most important, they are against the law."

Before trial, Ravi had rejected a plea deal that would have placed him on probation and required community service – and spared him any time behind bars or the threat of deportation to his native India. He chose instead to face a jury.

It's unclear if he faces immigration issues after his 30-day sentence is complete. What do you think? Does he deserve to spend time in jail?

While Mark Zuckerberg was taking Facebook public, his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan was quietly putting the final touches on her wedding gown.

In a surprise relationship status update, Zuckerberg and Chan married Saturday in a small, unannounced ceremony at their home in Palo Alto, Calif.

The bride looked stunning in Claire Pettibone’s “Sky Between the Branches” gown, an ivory laser-cut floral dress with matte sequins lined in silk.

The gown featured subtle cutouts in the overlay, plus an illusion jewel neckline, sheer back and chapel-length train. Chan's dress retails for $4,700.

Pettibone, a Los Angeles-based designer, has also created wedding dresses for stars like Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss and American Idol's Tamyra Gray.

Guests thought they were merely coming over for a surprise party to celebrate Chan’s graduation from medical school at the University of California.

However, the couple, who met at Harvard more than nine years ago, had been planning the low-key wedding for more than four months.

Given that Facebook stock is already down $4 today, at least Mark has something to smile about ... well that and being worth tens of billions.

John Legend and Jordin Sparks' tribute to Whitney Houston at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards moved the crowd - especially Bobbi Kristina Brown - to tears.

Now, Whitney's duet with Jordin Sparks - Houston's final recording - has leaked online. "Celebrate" was written by R. Kelly and is the last song she recorded.

Producer Harvey Mason Jr. said that despite her end-of-life struggles, Houston "really positive" and "fun-loving" during the recording with Sparks.

There's more music from these two yet to come. “Celebrate” will be featured on the soundtrack to Whitney and Jordin‘s upcoming movie, Sparkle.

The new film also stars Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, and Cee Lo Green and will hit theaters on August 17.

SHOCKWAVES ran higher than The Voice's ratings when tween favourite Ben Bennett was booted off the competition last night.

Singer Robin Gibb has died aged 62, after an ongoing battle with cancer.  Robin was one third of the Bee Gees, along with his brother Maurice and Barry.

Robin is widely considered as a pioneer of disco who helped turn the genre into a global phenomenon.

The Bee Gees had numerous hits and sold more than 200m records as both writers and performers, with their falsetto harmonies.

The family released a brief statement last night: “The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery.

“The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”

Tributes have already flooded in from a range of stars including The Script, Shane from Westlife and Michelle Williams who Tweeted:  ‘RIP Robin Gibb!! #EMOTIONSTAKINGMEOVER (I’m so glad DC3 got the chance to remake that song).’

It can be tricky for a child star to make the transition to adult star and last night Miley Cyrus took drastic measures to appear like the latter.

The actress and singer donned a white blazer and a pair of heels as she attended the Billboard Music Awards.

It wasn’t just the revealing outfit that made her look older than her 19 years; she also went for heavy make-up and Stepford Wives style hair.

Wearing no bra (which is now standard for the young star) she took to the stage to present the award for Top new Artist which went to Wiz Khalifa.

Miley came under scrutiny last week as she stepped out on holiday in Miami looking like a shadow of her former self.

We think it’s fair to say last night’s number has done nothing to dispel those eating disorder rumours and as for looking older? She looked like a child playing dress up. 

We can imagine this award malarkey is getting pretty old of Adele, not to mention the effort of juggling so many for picture ops, so we’re not too surprised she didn’t attend the Billboard Awards last night.

But don’t worry because plenty of other big name pop acts attended and won awards including Taylor Swift who received Woman of the Year, Katy Perry who got the Spotlight award and Justin Bieber who was awarded the Top Social Artist.

On accepting his award Justin said: ‘First of all I just want to say how much of a blessing it’s been the past three or for years growing up in front of everybody,

‘I just want to thank all my fans because, you know, the internet is where I got my start and all my fans have helped me get to this position.’

Aww that’s rather humble and lovely isn’t it? Katy Perry, who attended the awards with her 91-year-old grandma, was equally as charming in her acceptance speech: ‘This is cool! They told me the only other person who's received this award is Michael Jackson, so I feel incredibly honoured to be in that same category - although I don't compare at all.

‘These songs have been kind of like the diary of the last few years for me,’

Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina accepted the Millennium award on behalf of her mother, saying: ‘I just really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all. Not just from when it was good, but when it was bad too.

‘Thank you so much for showing that much love, because she deserved it. She did. ‘I’m just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman’s life.

‘There will never be another one ever, and I thank you, all of you – the fans, everyone. Thank you so much.’

Ok so not everyone agreed that Tulisa is the sexiest woman in the world but last night the singer made a very good effort at pretending to be just that as she performed at In:Demand Live in Glasgow.

The X factor judge donned an aqua blue bandage dress complete with some kind of boob harness, which we have to say we’re a little confused by.

We suppose she did need something to keep her ample chest in place as she pranced about on stage.

Tulisa wasn’t the only star who opted for a sexy look at the concert.  The Saturday’s made sure they stood out in matching skimpy number, in particular Frankie who was wearing a poor excuse for a pair of shorts.

New mother Una wasn’t performing with the rest of the band. We don’t blame her really, we wouldn’t want to flash so much flesh after just giving birth. 

Pop star Cheryl Cole certainly knows how to make an entrance and yesterday was no exception.

Chezza took to the red carpet in Cannes yesterday afternoon in a show stopping white dress, with red-feathered train that appeared to melt into the carpet.

She accessorised the modest Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture number with diamond earrings and ring and striking red nails and clutch to match her train.

The former X Factor judge chose the screening of French film Amour to make her dramatic entrance. She was joined by Diane Kruger who, despite wearing a sparkling number, faded into the background.

Cheryl is apparently in Cannes as an ambassador for L’Oreal, which seems slightly unnecessary if you ask us.

Just before she started her strut on the carpet, Cheryl tweeted: “About to walk the red carpet for @LOrealParisUK. It's raining lol. #Cannes2012”

How very lol indeed. Anyway it seems the heavens heard the UK’s sweetheart and the rain pissed off so she could do her thang on the red carpet.

Sure to be a spectacular showcase, the stars of the music world are all set to converge for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards in las Vegas on Sunday evening (May 20).

Held at the MGM Grand Arena, the red carpet action gets underway at 6:30PM ET with big names such as Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Charlie Sheen and Julianne Hough all expected to turn up for the Sin City based ceremony.

In a report put out by E! News on Sunday (May 20), the "Terminator 3" actor's bride, Rose Stahl, confirmed that Nick had checked in to a treatment center the previous evening.

According to Rose, the 32 year-old sent an "unemotional and unapologetic e-mail" on Friday night explaining that he was okay and was planning on entering a 30-day program that night, adding that he would make future arrangements to get his clothes. Since February of 2011, a Virginia high school student named Cady Eimer has been tweeting and even campaigned on a website titled "OneLessLonelyProm" in hopes that her wish for the Biebs to take her to prom would come true - and on Saturday night (May 19), she received more than she expected.

While spending her night dancing and hanging out with friends, Cady was surprised during prom with a video message from the music superstar made just for her. During the video, the 18 year-old heartthrob said he couldn't make it to her prom due to the Billboard music awards, but asked the lucky lady if she and her sister would accompany him to the event. Being the gentleman that he is, Justin thanked Eimer for her support, saying, "I love you… I can’t wait for you and sister to be my guests at the Billboard Awards,” and had all of the arrangements taken care of for her and her sis to fly out to Las Vegas the following morning.
