The last time we wrote about Cameron Diaz, she was making like Madonna for a photo shoot with V magazine.

How ironic, considering we're now reporting on the actress because she was making like the Material Girl in a different way this weekend: by macking on Alex Rodriguez!

At a Super Bowl XLIV pre-party Saturday night, Diaz and Rodriguez were definitely hanging out with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes at the W Hotel, as evidenced by the photo below.

Multiple reports, meanwhile, say “they were having a great time,” as witnesses told both OK! Weekly and E! News that Cameron was “grinding on A-Rod.”

According to onlookers, Diaz was imbibing and acting “fun and flirty,” with the Yankees star, who sat on the couch alongside her when the pair wasn't burning up the dance floor.

Cameron's most famous relationship, of course, was with Justin Timberlake. A Rod, meanwhile, has been linked to Madonna, Kate Hudson and steroids.

Diaz and Cruise are starring in the upcoming film Knight and Day. This is apt because the real question on everyone's mind is: did Cameron and Alex have a drunken night and then wake up in bed together the next day?

Quite possibly the swankiest of all of the Super Bowl parties in town, the biggest names in show business and sports gathered together at the W Hotel: South Beach on Saturday night (February 6).

Joining together for the Creative Artists Agency Super Bowl fete, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes met up with Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez during the course of the evening soiree.

They had a pretty public breakup, but now it looks like Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez are giving their romance a second chance.

The “Fool’s Gold” babe and the Yankees stud were spotted out and about in Los Angeles yesterday and it appeared that they were house hunting.

In late 2008 and early 2009, the relationship between Alex Rodriguez and Madonna was frequent gossip fodder as the baseball star was divorcing his wife.

It was reported that an "affair of the heart" (or more) with Madge led to a contentious end to A-Rod's marriage, which also produced two small children.

Now it looks like Cynthia Rodriguez may have company.

Actress Kate Hudson reportedly dumped the World Series winner after eight months because "his heart belongs to Madonna," the New York Daily News says.

Hudson warned A-Rod that if he continued talking to the music icon she would leave, and kept her promise when A-Rod kept calling and texting the singer.

Is A-Rod still hung up on Madonna - and did Kate dump him for it?

"Kate was jealous," said a source. "She gave A-Rod three chances to stop contacting Madonna. How would you feel if your new boyfriend kept calling his ex?"

Well, if she's his f*%king soulmate, then ...

The source said it broke Hudson's heart but she didn't want to be the other woman: "She said that if Madonna is what A-Rod wants then she can have him."

Madonna has been reportedly tied to Brazilian model Jesus Luz since breaking up with A-Rod in early 2009. The extent of their relationship is rather unclear.

Regardless, this story doesn't jibe with previous reports that Alex called it off because Kate was dating him for fame and publicity and was taking it too fast.

Whatever happened, there's no telling where this Rod will end up next.

The Yankees stud looked to be in good spirits despite reports of his split with Kate Hudson, smiling for the paparazzi as he strolled past.

Kate Hudson loved Alex Rodriguez, but she also loved the cameras at Yankee Stadium. A lot. That and Kate trying to "fast-track" their romance led to a A-Rod.

This according to a source close to the World Series champion, who broke up with Kate Hudson sometime last week after a very public six-month relationship.

The source says the actress' non-subtle presence at Yankee games, where she "wanted more camera time each and every game" was "a turnoff" to A-Rod.

"She'd always want to be styled before games and insisted on front-row seats," blurring the line between PR and true devotion, the A-Rod source tells Us.

A-Rod didn't want "a girlfriend who always wanted to be on camera ... Alex wants someone who was more interested in building a long-term relationship."

C'MERE! Kate Hudson wanted to "fast-track" things with an unwilling Rod.

Rodriguez insiders say things were over between them longer ago than we thought, but he kept quiet until after Kate's recent movie's promotional events.

"Alex wanted to end this relationship well over a month ago," the source says, but with Nine premiering, "felt that would be counterproductive and unfair."

The friend suggests that Kate smothering him also pushed him away, as "she seemed compelled to track and follow his every move" during the MLB season.

Ultimately, Hudson tried to give Rodriguez "an ultimatum" and to "fast track" their new romance, even though "He's coming off of a 13-year relationship."

"He has two lovely children with his ex-wife, and that requires a certain responsibility. She gave him ultimatums that a newly divorced father can't meet."

In news that shocks us about as much as Alex Rodriguez turning into a prolific playoff slugger, he and Kate Hudson have called it quits as a couple.

The New York Yankees star and the actress were believed to be going strong as recently as last week and even talking engagement earlier this fall.

Perhaps Kate playing it coy on Letterman Thursday was a sign.

Hudson was strangely mum when asked about A-Rod on the Late Show. We say strangely because she seemed to publicly flourish dating the star.

Okay, we guarantee it's not that scenario.

Nevertheless, A-Rod will apparently be returning to bachelorhood. He and Tiger Woods should get together and compare notes on mistresses.

Flaunted on very-public dates and outings, and at every single Yankees home game, Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez's steamy relationship is not a secret.

Still, on the Late Show with David Letterman last night, the actress didn't give in to the host's humorously nosy questions about her romance with A-Rod.

When Letterman opened up the questioning with, "So ... uou're a big Yankees fan, and you're friends with Alex Rodriguez," Hudson giggled sheepishly.

"Yeah, he's a friend of mine. Nice guy," she said.

So how did she and the Rod meet? "Can't we talk about the holidays?" she asked. Did she and the baseball star spend Thanksgiving together? Nothing.

Kate Hudson played it coy on the subject of A-Rod ... for once.

Letterman then prodded, "So is he a nice guy?" Hudson finally caved, saying, "Yeah, he's a nice guy ... You just can't help yourself! You just can't!"

"I knew it was going to come at some point!"

When Dave pointed out, "His game changed when you started showing up regularly at ball games," Hudson responded, "It was a really fun summer."

She refused to take credit for the Yankees' 27th World Series title, but there's no doubt Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez dating had a positive effect.

Spending the day side-by-side, Jay-Z and Alex Rodriguez teamed up for an early dinner at Nello’s on Madison Avenue in New York City on Friday (November 6).

Still celebrating the Yankees World Series win after attending a victory parade earlier in the day, the MLB slugger and his hip-hop mogul pal exited the popular eatery to find a crowd of fans outside.

Making for quite the midday spectacle, it was Yankee mania as a parade took place in lower Manhattan on Friday (November 6) to celebrate the New York Yankees winning their 27th World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Joining in on the fun, Alex Rodriguez and Jay-Z were in quite high spirts as they looked out at the crowd from atop of a float, waving to fans while showering them with ticker tape.

On what was one of the biggest moments of his career, Alex Rodriguez and girlfriend Kate Hudson were spotted out for a celebratory night on the town in New York City on Wednesday (November 4).

Fresh off of winning the World Series over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Yankees slugger and his actress love were also joined by his mom, Lourdes Navarro, and his sister, Suzy, as they dropped in at Club 1 Oak.

Taking advantage of an off-fay before the World Series picks back up tomorrow, Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez were spotted having lunch together in New York City on Tuesday (November 3).

The Yankees slugger and his “Fool’s Gold” babe dined at Le Bilboquet, a swanky French restaurant on the Upper East Side.

Kate Hudson has men figured out.

"I sometimes feel like when you're talking to boys, they just hear certain keywords," she tells Elle UK. "But if you had a thought bubble above their head, they would be thinking about game scores, masturbation and food."

Well, that about sums it up.

In case you forgot, Kate Hudson is actually an actress who makes and promotes movies, not a full-time cheerleader for Alex Rodriguez and the New York Yankees.

She was ostensibly doing PR for her upcoming movie Nine, although her interview focused largely on her opinions on men, relationships, sex and the like.

Fortunately for all, the same “insider” says that A-Rod, who has two daughters, Natasha, 4, and Ella, 16 months, with ex-wife Cynthia Rodriguez, is just not ready for more kids right now. Convenient, as the whole story's made up anyway.

The New York Yankees slugger, who sparks even more celebrity gossip rumors than he does MLB rumors, recently went public with movie star Kate Hudson, and he's been on top of his game ever since, raising his average to .259!

His average since their first public smooch on July 25 is up almost 25 points. And not only is he hitting home runs off the field (if you know what we mean!) he swatted two balls out of the yard in a weekend sweep of the Boston Red Sox as well.

Yankee fans are pleased with the impact his relationship is having.

"It's gotta help him out a little," said baseball fan Mike Grassi, 20, from Long Island. "I would definitely play a lot better if I had her as my girlfriend."

"He's got a hot girl on his side," agreed Erik Vesper, 22, a Yankees backer from South Plainfield, N.J. "It's making up for all of her terrible movies."

The bubbly blond Kate Hudson, 30, has been rooting for Alex Rodriguez, 34, all summer, laughing and waving from a front row seat at Yankee Stadium.

The New York Daily News caught up with the actress last night at Los Dados restaurant in Manhattan's Meatpacking District and she declined comment - but smiled - when asked if her presence has been helping A-Rod's game.

The MLB's active home run leader made his relationship with her official at the team's family picnic day, cuddling and smooching for the cameras. Since that day A-Rod is batting .283 and striking out a lot less ... in more ways than one! 

On Saturday, Hudson even brought parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell to the game. The family went wild as the Yankees beat the Sox, 5-0.

For her part, Kate Hudson followed Rodriguez on the road late last month to Dallas, when the Yankees played the Texas Rangers in a three-game series.

The actress and son Ryder, 5 (whose dad is Chris Robinson), stayed at the same hotel as A-Rod, and the couple "worked out together in the fitness center."

Guess that's what they're calling it now.

For one of the games, she sent Ryder and his nanny to the ballpark while she "stayed behind and watched the game from the hotel," adds the eyewitness.

"She remarked several times about what a big baseball fan she is!"

According to reports, Jesus Luz is currently living in the Central Park West apartment owned by Madge. Well, at least until he moves to the doghouse.

How Madonna truly feels about his comments, we can't say - but she is happy that another recent ex, Alex Rodriguez, has moved on with actress Kate Hudson.

"Madonna is actually relieved that A-Rod seems so happy with Kate," says a source. "He's always treated women like he treats home runs anyway."

Sources say that Kate Hudson and A-Rod have been secretly seeing one another for the past month and a half, but are still trying to keep things quiet.

Alex Rodriguez. Think of how many Bachelor records the Yankees star could shatter - manliest-looking babes ever to make the final two, most time preening before dates, trips to second base in hot tub, home runs in the fantasy suite, etc.
