The absurdity? To violate a restraining order, someone has to first obtain one against you. Then you have to shun it so obviously that they call the cops again.

According to Erin's attorney Bryan Konoski, Lindsay's father allegedly called Erin at work on January 21, a violation of Erin's restraining order against him.

Nassau County (N.Y.) police say Michael, who is dating Kate Major now for some reason, was arrested Thursday night and booked for criminal contempt.

This isn't an old story - he was arrested in December for the same thing. He was also accused of booting Erin in the vagina, which is seriously uncool.

Vienna Girardi is the least-liked girl in The Bachelor house. That's an understatement akin to stating that Kim Kardashian is famous for no reason.

But 30-year-old single mom Ella Nolan, one of four women Jake Pavelka dumped on Monday's episode, says maybe Vienna isn't all bad. Maybe.

"The show is ultimately his decision," Ella, a Tennessee hair stylist, said Thursday.

"What he sees in Vienna, none of the rest of us were there on their date when they were alone. She's different when she's with him than she was in the house. I can see him just not taking the girls word for it when he is not seeing it on his own."

Ell Nolan says she never viewed Vienna Girardi or any of the other women as competition for Jake Pavelka. That's very mature. No wonder she got kicked off.

"I didn't get catty or jealous of any of the other women," she says. "I didn't really see that there was that much drama because I tried to stay out of it."

Vienna Girardi, a 25-year-old Orlando native, "is one of the women that if she thinks or feels a certain way, she comes out and says it," adds Ella.

"I think it kind of rubbed some of the women the wrong way in the house, but then she would always apologize for it later. In the end I liked her."

If she had to pick, Ella says she would choose Tenley Molzahn for Jake Pavelka, but thinks Gia and Ali also formed strong connections with him.

Notice she's not advocating a Vienna-Jake romance despite being polite. No word on whether V was really dating someone else while on the show.

Warner Brothers was apparently far from pleased that Simon Monjack matter-of-factly accused them of killing his late wife, Brittany Murphy. Who'd have guessed.

The studio hit back at Con-jack's extraordinarily ridiculous claim that the studio's decision to fire Brittany Murphy directly resulted in her death December 20.

For one, a legal link between her death, however upsetting, and being fired from a movie set is pretty absurd. More importantly, they say she was never hired.

Kinda makes it hard to get fired, right?

"Any claim that Warner Bros. Pictures was somehow responsible for Brittany Murphy's tragic death is demonstrably false, reprehensible and defamatory," they said.

"Despite press reports to the contrary, Warner Bros. and Ms. Murphy never entered into any deal for Happy Feet 2, and thus, there was no contract to cancel."

Simon Monjack wed Brittany Murphy in 2007.

While clearly upset about his wife's death and deserving of some leeway, Simon Monjack is not making it easy for himself to be seen as a sympathetic figure.

His history of seedy behavior aside, he has gone almost overboard with the PR since Murphy died, ostensibly to defend her, but also to cast blame on others.

Who knows what the sleaze has up his sleeve next.

Two members of the Jersey Shore cast have agreed to MTV's offer of $10,000 an episode for Season Two, but the others are still holding out for more.

After the network made clear it would proceed with the show regardless, Ronnie Magro and Jenni Farley (J-WOWW) have accepted the $10,000/episode deal.

The network is drawing a hard line at the close of business Friday, at which point the rest of the Jersey Shore cast must either accept or be replaced.

MTV originally set a deadline of Monday evening, but negotiations continued and their offer doubled (it was originally just $5,000 per episode each).

Would Jersey Shore be just as good with new guidos?

An MTV publicist said that come what may, the outcome of the negotiations should be known this coming Monday at the latest and possibly by later today.

Scott Talarico, agent for Nicole Polizzi (Snooki), said he can’t put a date or a number on the end of negotiations but is confident things will be worked out.

“I am confident there will be a second season I am just not sure of the end date of the negotiations,” he said of Snooki, The Situation, DJ Pauly D & Co.

Bottom line? Expect the gang to fold ... which is good news for us. If The Sitch isn't back in the house, we don't know what we're gonna do next season.

So expect Jwoww, The Situation and Snooki back on MTV despite the network letting it be known that an all new cast could be assembled quickly.

Samantha Harris is exiting the ballroom.

The Dancing With the Stars co-host has announced her resignation from the show. She won't return for the its tenth season, which kicks off on March 22.

“[Dancing with the Stars] could not have been more of a dream job,” she said. “I loved every single second of it and I’ve made lifelong friends at the show.”

So, why is she leaving? Harris majored in journalism at Northwestern University (go Wildcats!) and wants to focus on other projects, such as her correspondent duties at The Insider.

“I interned at Entertainment Tonight 15 years ago, the summer after my sophomore year at Northwestern and I dreamed of working in the same space as hosts Mary Hart and Mark Steines and now I’m living that dream,” Harris said.

Kemp yesterday denied rumors involving his own abusive past.

On Tuesday night, Susan Boyle returned from recording a single that would benefit Haiti to find an intruder in her home.

As a result of this incident, and a similar occurrence on Christmas that posited two strangers outside the singer's back window, Susan's brother is concerned. Very, very concerned.

"I am very upset about the lack of security," John Boyle told The Sun. "Her management company are too busy counting the money Susan has made them to consider her safety. The family have told them several times that vast improvements need to be made to avoid something like this happening."

So far, though, the lack of a response has troubled John.

He even compared the possible scenarios to the most violent event in music history: the assassination of John Lennon.

"Susan is a massive world star and needs better protection," he said. "You look at what happened to John Lennon in New York - it's really worrying."

The singing sensation, meanwhile, is standing strong. She said: "I'm not going anywhere - nobody's pushing me out of my house."

The running back is accused of beating up girlfriend Supriya Harris during an "argument" last March - while she was nine months pregnant with his child.

In a complaint filed with the Las Vegas Police Department, Harris says that Steven Jackson "became enraged and pushed me to the ground, repeatedly."

Harris claims her then-boyfriend, "forcibly grabbed my arm and flung me against the door. I was protect my stomach from the blows, I was 9 mos pregnant."

That's even more messed up than Harris' grammar.

Even worse, Supriya Harris claims Jackson "continued to shove me against the door until his nephew ... interceded and yelled, 'uncle, she has a baby, stop.'"

Harris claims she was "bleeding heavily" from wounds she received after she was smashed into a door handle and Jackson took her to a nearby hospital.

There, he instructed her to lie and tell doctors that she was injured from a fall in the shower. Ten days after the incident, Harris gave birth to their son.

According to the complaint, Harris claims she left Steven four months later after he threatened to beat her up again at a music festival in New Orleans.

Jackson and Harris have been arguing over child support payments, with Harris filing documents begging a judge to force Steven Jackson to pay up.

That case is still pending.

We always knew Jay Leno wasn't funny. But who knew he was such a whining, lying manipulator?

Days after Conan O'Brien officially left NBC, and Leno reclaimed The Tonight Show hosting gig, Jay appeared with Oprah Winfrey to try and rehabilitate his image. It's safe to say he failed... miserably.

In a series of responses, - each more damaging than the previous one - Leno said he hasn't spoken to O'Brien; admits to lying to viewers a few years ago; and acts as though he's somehow the victim in this late-night mess. A few excerpts:

On being replaced by O'Brien: "It broke my heart, it really did. I was devastated."

On telling viewers in 2004 than he was going to retire: "I told a little white lie on the air. It made it easier that way."

On the new program's failure: "The show failed because it was basically doing a late-night talk show at 10 o'clock. I was given enough time. I got fired this time because my show did not perform." (THG note: you did not get fired, Jay. You got promoted! Conan got fired.)

On Jimmy Kimmel's skewering of him: "I got sucker-punched... I walked into it. [But] you don't whine and complain." (Until now, apparently.)

On Conan's cancellation: "It all comes down to numbers in show business. If the numbers had been there, this wouldn't have happened." (No way your terrible showing as a lead-in played a role, right Jay?)

Leno concluded the interview by saying he hopes Conan gets a new job as a competitor and "the best man wins."

Sorry, Jay, but future ratings (as a result of viewers that appreciate a lack of wit and creativity) does not make one a good man. Showing class and acting humble would have done the job, but it's too late for that.

Jasmina Anema, who captured the hearts of President Obama, Rihanna and thousands of ordinary Americans, lost her courageous fight against leukemia today.

The little girl was just six years old.

"Today, January 27, at 10:55 p.m., Jasmina lost her fight against leukemia," her grief-stricken mother wrote to a sad group of supporters who that rallied around Jasmine's worldwide, public campaign to find bone-marrow donors.

President Barack Obama himself commented on the sand news, releasing a statement:

Jasmina Anema was not lacking for celebrity support.

"It is with great sadness that Michelle and I extend our condolences on the passing of Jasmina Anema ... she showed tremendous bravery, and her ability to remain positive was an inspiration to me and to all those she touched."

Jasmina Anema's story gained publicity last year when Rihanna made a public plea for bone-marrow donors to come forward. As a result, Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams, NBA star Paul Pierce and others joined the cause.

Jasmina received her transplant last year when a near-perfect match was found. But in September, her leukemia returned, though she always remained positive.

Rest in peace, Jasmina, and may your inspiring story give hope to others out there waging similar struggles, and to those who lend a hand to others in need.

Author J.D. Salinger, whose novel Catcher in the Rye has long been among the most popular and treasured titles in contemporary American literature, died Wednesday.

He was 91.

The author died of natural causes at his home in Cornish, N.H., his son said this morning in a statement released by Salinger's literary representative.

Notoriously private despite his fame, Salinger's last published work came in 1965, and he lived for the past several decades in self-imposed isolation.

Salinger earned his place in literary and pop culture history more than a half-century ago with his 1951 novel about rebellious teenager Holden Caulfield.
